The ER-1A electrinic remote relay switch can be connected to, and controlled by the "external alarm" output signal of many of the gauges, and is used as an interposing relay to control the operation of larger, high current loads, with the normally open and normally closed relay contacts...which are rated at 10 amos. The supply voltage wire would be sized and appropriately fused for the load being switched...up to the rated 10A max. Examples of higher draw load items may include, but are not limited to, fuel transfer pumps, backup electric water pumps, or even radiator cooling fans. The input resistance of the control line signal is 10,000 OHMS minimum, and a voltage of between +3.5 TO +12 VDC can be used to switch the relay off and on. The ER-1A external relay is powered by 12 or 24 VDC and typically draws only .035 amps when switched on, and almost no power whrn switched off.
